Inaugural General Assembly: February 25, 2012
Occupy First is a not-for-profit company born out of the alternative banking workgroups in the Occupy Movement. The primary mission of Occupy First is to provide financial services that put People Before Profits. Occupy First is developing a federation of member-owned credit unions that are competitive, stable and democratic and we need your help.
The Inaugural General Assembly of Occupy First will be held in the Irvine Civic Center Council Chambers from 1pm to 5pm in Irvine, California. It will also be broadcast live via UStream. We need people interested in taking the control of money away from the big banks to join us in person and online. We have definitive issues which will be resolved at this event, so we encourage you to participate.
The Occupy First Credit Unions will be run by The People and for The People. People with skills in all areas are invited to join this evolution in banking. The federation will be nationwide and we need people in your area to join us.

I only have one real issue with banks, and that is why are they sitting on so many empty houses? I understand why they are not selling the houses, because they are better off listing their estimated value as assets than selling them and having to least their real value in their assets columns. But why don’t they rent the houses? That, I do not understand at all!

Here’s an uncommon petition that I think I actually have in common with the original OA agenda. http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/55_investigators/?r=5536958&id=35759-1608140-5wvXh_x
