This is an invitation to the adventurous….Come to a quick lesson on basic Playback Theatre forms, Saturday, June 23rd, and then perform on Sunday, June 24th for the evening events celebrating the Occupy Caravan as it makes its way to the National Occupy Gathering in Philadelphia.
Playback Theatre is a unique form of improv that honors people’s true life stories. People in the audience share a moment or experience in their lives, and the actors “play it back”. It is simple and effective. It is a great way for a community to share its stories. It is fun!
The PLAYBACK LESSON will be offered on Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Harvest House, at 205 Kenilworth Road, by members of Asheville Playback Theatre. Then become a Citizen Actor in the PLAYBACK PERFORMANCE on Sunday at 7:30. The performance will be at the Baha’i Center, where festivities include a meal at 6:00, a Public Assembly and then the show. The general public is invited, as well as the local Occupiers and the guests from the Caravan.
